The Technical Lead supports the design and implementation of interoperable public health data exchange and AI solutions. This role contributes to technical guidance, design collaboration, and standards-based approaches to help ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with public health workflows, data governance needs, and applicable interoperability standards. Key Responsibilities. Responsible for the technical design and execution of data exchange, interoperability, and AI/ ML solutions supporting surveillance, reporting, analytics, and related public health use cases. Responsible for overall QA/ QC and troubleshooting solutions encountered across the tech stack. Lead architects, engineers, analysts, and informaticists to translate client needs into technical approaches. Support the application of interoperability standards such as HL 7 v 2, FHIR, CDA, APIs, and terminology systems within public health contexts. Lead technical discussions, design sessions, and reviews; help document decisions, assumptions, and dependencies. Review technical deliverables and documentation for alignment with scope, requirements, and quality expectations. Identify technical considerations related to integration, security, privacy, onboarding, and data-sharing constraints, and discuss potential mitigation options with the team. Support integration testing, validation, and exchange troubleshooting activities when applicable. Share technical knowledge and lessons learned across projects and support mentoring of junior staff. What You Will Need:A bachelor’s Degree is required. A minimum of FIVE (5) years of previous experience serving in a Technical Lead role. Knowledge and experience assisting clients in modernizing and implementing technology solutions (Cloud, AI, analytics, and data management). Knowledge across the tech stack, from underlying infrastructure needs, UI/ UX design, analytics, and system maintenance. Ability to document system integration and support flow analysis and review detailed technical documentation. Public health informatics experience specifically in public health surveillance, epidemiology workflows, and STLT public health operations. Proven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to a nontechnical public. Analytical thinking and problem solving. Demonstrated experience with public health data exchange and interoperability across PH - As, laboratories, registries, healthcare partners, and federal systems. Working knowledge of public health standards and artifacts (e.g., HL 7 v 2, CDA, FHIR). What Would Be Nice To Have:Demonstrated experience in generative AI and agentic research versus other methods of automation.
