Provide customer service as currently defined by the employer within the scope of the position and within company policy. Train, schedule, and supervise floral clerks to ensure optimum staffing patterns for the floral area. Writes schedule for Floral Department with Store Director approval. Follows Division guidelines for the implementation of the merchandising plan. Speak with customers to resolve problems with sales, dissatisfaction with service, or other problems that are related to the operation of the floral area. Design esthetically pleasing floral arrangements for display or to meet the needs of a particular customer. Manages inventory per company policies and practices to drive sales and profits. Perform daily inventory. Order necessary supplies to maintain adequate inventory. Prepare and input floral department orders into computer. Stocks and maintains displays in the floral department. Make sure that all expired items are moved from the shelves daily. Operate helium tank to inflate balloons. Use sprayers and containers to water all plants. Maintain cleanliness of floral area Operate cash register. Monitor inter-office mail and company web page daily for updated information. Other duties as assigned. Skills and Requirements: Ability to follow company customer service procedures. Demonstrated prior customer service skills or related experience. Ability to interact with customers and co-workers. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Previous experience or training as a floral clerk or designer. Desired: Prior management experience. Work Environment: % Inside: 90% Outside: 10% Temperature Extremes: Varies depending on store location. Chemicals: Seldom (mild detergents or glass cleaner). Uses equipment such as hand truck, six-wheeled cart, grocery cart, box cutter, pens and pencils, spray bottle, rags, mops, broom, telephone/intercom, knives, calculator, flower cutter, balloon machine, computer, floral decorating supplies, cash register to perform tasks throughout workday. Safety – Sensitive Position: Job responsibilities include tasks or duties that could affect the safety or health of the employee performing the task or others. Union and Non-Union: “The pay range is $18.16-$26.15 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Starting rates will vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Dependent on length of service, hours worked and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/ Vacation pay (accrued based on hours worked), paid holidays (9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401 k eligibility).”
