We craft and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems. How does Manufacturing plays into the big picture? The efficiency, quality, and reliability of these processes directly impact business performance. All these products are designed, assembled, and tested in manufacturing facilities, making the production floor a critical part of delivering value to customers. What your day-to-day will look like: Conduct time studies across production processes to analyze workflow efficiency and validate or establish standard labor hours. Collaborate with supervisors and operators to ensure accurate data collection and process understanding. Develop and maintain facility layouts, ensuring clear definition of production areas, material flow, and workspace allocation. Assist in the development and maintenance of a Skills Matrix system to track employee competencies and training progression. Support integration of training data through On-the-Job Training (OJT) records to ensure accurate and automated updates. Prepare reports, presentations, and tracking tools for production performance and improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate documentation of processes, standards, and improvement projects. Support cross-functional teams with data analysis and coordination of operational activities. Critical Capabilities: Exposure to manufacturing or production environments (minimum 1 year experience working with the team preferred) Basic understanding of industrial engineering concepts is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (data tracking, basic analysis) Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment Who Should Apply? Education / Majors: Current undergraduates pursuing a BA/ BS from an accredited college or university and majoring in Industrial Engineering with strong technical or analytical aptitude Availability: 40 hours per week from June to August Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization Prior internship or co-op experience (preferred) Demonstrated leadership potential Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and critical-thinking skills Industry knowledge and/or interest You’ll benefit from: The hourly pay range for this position is $26 - $30 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
