We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Ultrasound Technologist - Per Diem - Ultrasound - Radiology-Ultrasound - Per Diem - Varied 7.5 hour. In this role, the successful candidate Provides health care services, applying sonic energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs ultrasonic imaging and related procedures in one of the following areas: OB/ GYN, abdomen, vascular anatomy. Demonstrates anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. By performing all tasks in an efficient, responsible and caring manner, the employee will be dedicated to meet the needs of customers and staff. In doing so, will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care with respect to the special needs of each patient age group serviced as well as those persons with disabilities. Job Responsibilities:Corroborates patients clinical history with procedure by:assuring information is documented and available for review by a radiologist. Positions patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest by:respecting patient ability and comfortdetermining ultrasonic frequencies and transducers for the anatomic area of interest. Verifies informed consent for and assists a licensed practitioner during interventional procedures, needle localizations, aspirations biopsies and amniocentesis. Applies aseptic surgical techniques. Evaluates requisition by:identifying patientidentifying procedures to be performedchecking chart or RX for orderverifying pertinent clinical history and reason for examdetermining utilization of appropriate protective equipment (gloves, mask, gown, eye shields)Evaluates images and data for technical quality by:selecting and operating ultrasound equipment and devices to achieve desired results qualitymanipulating display parametersproviding hard copy recordsassuring proper identification recorded Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of the patients during procedures by:exercising precaution in patient applicationsrespecting the biological needs of patients during procedures. Provides patient care byverifying patient identification/checking armbandintroducing himself/herself to the patientbriefly explaining the procedureverifying if patient is properly prepped for the examidentifying, when appropriate, that there are no contraindications for performing examproviding appropriate assistance to the imaging table, based on patient's condition. Maintains patient care by:maintaining patient dignity and modesty through proper gowning and covering for the patienttalking to the patient in a concerned, professional manner (age appropriate)utilizing standard precautions and transmission-based precautionsproviding proper instructions for moving and breathing assessing the patient's condition at regular intervalsproviding for the patient's safety and security while in the department. Minimum Qualifications:To qualify you must have a Registered or Registry Eligible with the (ARDMS) American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers. Completion of two year approved Ultrasound Diagnostic School Approximately three to six months on the job training.
