Click here to learn more about Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute ?? Position Overview The Bioskills Lab Assistant is responsible for supporting the Bioskills Lab Manager and team. The position assists with preparing all tissue specimens including cadaver tissue, set up, and clean-up of all biohazardous and waste. Sets up and break down the surgical skills lab events and support the professional education leader, program instructor, and skills lab team. Assists with after-hours programming and research efforts as needed. Actively participates in various courses and events as well as supports clinical and technology initiatives. The Bioskills Lab Assistant actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains relationships within the organization and industry partners. Benefits That Start Day One! ? Thoroughly clean and maintain all laboratory equipment and laboratory space. Assist with laboratory set up and breakdown for events Understands surgical and research environments, including operating room supplies and procedures. Assist with dissections of cadaveric tissue for appropriate course usage. Assist with transportation of tissue specimens. Provides extraordinary customer service and is attentive to customer and team needs. Works well in high-stress environment and adaptable to change. Self-motivated and must be able to excel in problem solving. Must be able to pay attention to details and deadlines. Communicates effectively with a multidisciplinary team. Maintains reasonably regular punctual attendance, consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Qualifications Education/ Training Associate’s degree in a medical/clinical or related major preferred. Licensure/ Certification N/ A Experience Surgical technician or Bioskills Lab experience preferred
