LOCATION: Facilities and Risk Management Starting Hourly Rate: $16.86 per hour, depending upon education and experience, GC POSITION PURPOSE: Performs a variety of cleaning and maintenance procedures to ensure sanitary conditions are met. Duties will include maintaining hard surface floors, including sweeping, mopping, and refinishing; maintaining carpets, including vacuuming and shampooing; cleaning and maintaining buildings, including emptying waste baskets, dusting, upholstery cleaning, making minor repairs, and replacing light bulbs and tubes; cleaning and disinfecting restrooms; ground maintenance, including cleaning windows, trash collection, and snow removal; event set up and moving services; monitoring building safety and property; and other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Knowledge of: custodial and grounds maintenance duties security procedures Ability to: follow oral and written directions work outdoors in all types of weather conditions operate required equipment, a variety of motorized vehicles, and hand and power tools perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. or more, physical labor including pulling and pushing establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships, interacting in a supportive manner with students, faculty, staff and the public provide excellent customer service COMMENTS: Work Hours are day shift with some variation. Occasional weekend and holiday work may be required.
