This position is the on-site Wellness Coordinator and is responsible for providing leadership for a comprehensive wellness program. Supervision Received:Direction received under the leadership of the Program Management Officer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Leads a comprehensive wellness program, schedules and coordinates regular wellness committee meetings. Coordinates, plans, and facilitates health and fitness activities and programs for employees. Serves as liaison with City’s Fitness Center and Health and Wellness Center. Develops detailed project plans, annual calendar of topics and events, timetables, work well with deadlines. Plans and implements classes, speakers, seminars, personal training, and fitness assessments that promote healthy lifestyles. Develops promotion and publicity plans for wellness and fitness programs throughout the organization. Compiles statistical summaries of participant data, class attendance, and equipment inventories to ensure proper detailed program evaluation. Under the direction of the Program Management Officer coordinates with the Project Manager (Wellness Program) in the development of budget, policies, and procedures relevant to the operation of the City’s wellness program. Provides and facilitates educational presentations and training programs. Develops annual wellness program and monitors, documents, and defines all wellness initiatives, objectives, and measured outcomes. Acts like a liaison in the City to gather ideas, boost, participation and sustain interest in the City’s wellness program. Establishes relationships with all internal departments to increase engagement and education about the City’s wellness programs. Assists in development of employee wellness related communication. Conducts program assessments and employee surveys to assess priorities in program development. Coordinates, communicates, promotes, and implements educational seminars, speakers, workshops, presentations, and events on targeted topics. Incorporates and coordinates physical, emotional, behavioral and financial wellness initiatives in association with the City’s program goals and objectives. Prepares reporting on impact of the wellness program and initiatives. May perform other duties as assigned. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be comfortable presenting information to a group of people. Ability to analyze facts and prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports. Ability to have strong attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidential documents and information. Ability to work cooperatively with people at all levels with respect and perform a variety of tasks simultaneously. Able to implement programs to comply with federal Drug-Free Workplace requirements. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at one time and meet deadlines. Ability to demonstrate competence with MS Office applications. Work Environment:Required physical, lifting, and sensory capabilities are requirements to perform the job successfully. Typical environmental conditions associated with job. Lifting Requirements: Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
