To perform a variety of regularly assigned departmental duties. - Primarily 1st shift schedule, could include weekends, holidays. - Daily work activity is directed by the Group Leader. - Reports directly to the department Operations Manager. Job Responsibilities Primary duties to perform this job include: - Performs all task under limited supervision. - Assumes ownership of work task and demonstrates initiative to get work completed. - Performs miscellaneous manual labor activities (e.g., sweeping and cleaning floors and work areas, picking uppapers and refuse from grounds, assisting in the handling of heavy materials, making minor repairs, mowinglawns, and shoveling snow). - Receiving and unloading steel trucks which may require unique rigging applications. - Organizing and lining up parts for skilled trades employees to complete jobs in an organized manner. - Packaging and shipping complete jobs. - May perform limited welding, machining, and mechanical assembly. - May perform limited repairs to small pneumatic and electric hand tools. - May perform limited bench work in repairing and maintaining production equipment spare part assemblies. - Assist with keeping neat and orderly records on work performed. - Adjust schedule and work hours to accomplish the desired result, ability to work weekends and holidays asrequired. - Perform work assignments efficiently while being consistent with good safety practices. - Assist in procedure/equipment upgrades as necessary. - Report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor. - Review, understand, and follow all Company specifications and procedures, and regulatory rules andrequirements that are associated with the performance of this job. - Other duties as assigned by the department Operations Manager. Understand the relevance and importance of the quality activities and how they relate to achieving the quality objectives. Must be knowledgeable of quality procedures used in the department and how they relate to the needs of our customers. Must adhere to the various procedures, specifications, and must ensure compliance with these standards. Environmental, Health, and Safety - Understand the Company’s EHS Policy and how it relates to this job. - Be aware of OSHA and EPA laws and regulations as well as the Company’s Plant Rules and Regulations thatpertain to this job. - Work in a safe manner and observe all company EHS Procedures. - Follow safe equipment operating procedures and only operate equipment when guards are in place and in goodcondition. - Know that the company EHS Procedures, Company Specifications, Work Instructions, Plant Rules and. Regulations, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) can be accessed by supervision andare located at Security, and are available upon request. - Immediately notify the Operations Manager of any safety hazard, equipment not operating correctly, or ifthere are any questions regarding EHS procedures. - PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT – Follow the personal protective equipment policy detailed in. Plant Rules & Regulations EHS 560 & EHS 580. Basic Requirements - High School education or equivalent. - Must have average mechanical aptitude. - Must possess good organizational and communication skills. - Team oriented, self-motivated, safety and quality conscious; requiring minimal supervision. - Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis. - May be required to operate basic shop equipment (hoist, forklift, scissor lift, etc.) - Must be able to work in confined areas, climb ladders, and work at heights of 50 feet. - Must be able to wear a respirator. - Must be willing to continuously improve technical skills and knowledge. - Must be able to understand and interpret the specifications and procedures related to this job.
