The Administrative Representative position is responsible for maintaining and administering daily tasks aligned with the outpatient experience from admission to discharge. This position will support measures that accurately track the census and daily activities of the outpatient. This position will be responsible for a variety of tasks within the Outpatient Services department, including greeting patients and families, performing patient registration and discharge, scheduling appointments, and serving as a liaison between patients and clinical support staff. Rate of pay: $19.58 - $28.20 per hour based on experience Position Requirements: Licensure/ Certification/ Registrations: None Education: A high school diploma or equivalency is required. Experience: 1 3 years front desk experience in a clinical environment required. Previous experience with medical terminology, charge entry and Meditech software, Medicare/ Medicaid and commercial insurance preferred. Skills Abilities: Excellent skills in team-building, conflict resolution, and communication skills; both verbal and written. Able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks effectively. The ability to demonstrate professionalism while dealing with the stressors of operating a multi-line telephone system. The ability to work with frequent interruptions and complete assignments in a timely manner. Work collaboratively within the department, other departments and physicians. Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications are preferred. Essential Functions: Present as a contact person for outpatients entering and exiting Outpatient Services. Serve as a contact person for incoming Outpatient Services calls and be responsible for relaying messages and /or directing calls to the appropriate source(s). Provide the highest level of customer service to patients, fellow employees and referral sources. Work with peer Administrative Representatives to ensure the day s checks and balances are complete, reporting issues in a timely manner to the Director of Outpatient Services. Serve as a liaison between the patient and the therapist/nurse regarding schedules and changes in schedules. Communicate effectively with peers, other departments, and physicians to support maximum departmental productivity and collaborative planning. Respond effectively and efficiently to on the spot questions when a need for a change in direction is necessary to accommodate the patient.
