Commercial Front-End Drivers are responsible for collecting and transporting containers filled with waste or recyclable materials. Containers may weigh in excess of 1,000 pounds and may require drivers to maneuver wheeled containers into designated pick-up areas. Drivers must safely navigate high-traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and parking lots. Advanced backing and maneuvering skills are essential for successful job performance. Roll-off Drivers are responsible for preparing, loading, transporting, and unloading large open-top and compactor containers from customer locations. Drivers must safely navigate driveways, alleyways, parking lots, and high-traffic roadways, and may operate in areas with limited overhead clearance on industrial routes. Advanced backing and maneuvering skills are essential for successful job performance. Grapple Drivers are responsible for operating grapple trucks to collect and transport debris, brush, logs, and other materials. Duties include safely loading and unloading materials using the grapple arm; conducting daily vehicle inspections to ensure safe operating conditions; and reporting maintenance or repair needs promptly. Drivers must follow all safety procedures and traffic laws while operating equipment. Additional responsibilities include communicating effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate pickups and deliveries, maintaining accurate records of routes, loads, and work performed, and assisting with general yard and equipment maintenance as needed. Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED preferred; two years of experience in the operation of heavy trucks and/or off-road construction equipment or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Class B Commercial Driver’s License; some assignments may require a Georgia Class A Commercial Driver’s License and/or special endorsements. - Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a valid 12-month DOT Medical Blue Card as a condition of employment for some departments.
