SUBSIDIARY: Joseph J. Peters Institute (JJPI) PROGRAM: Safety & Responsibility Programs (SRP) ROLE TYPE: Full-Time JOB OVERVIEW: Joseph J. Peters Institute seeks a full-time (40 hrs/wk) Senior Supervising Forensic Psychologist for its Safety and Responsibility Programs (SRP). This person will conduct and supervise Comprehensive Biopsychosocial Evaluations (CB - Es) with risk assessment measures, Comprehensive Biopsychosocial Re-evaluations (CB - Rs), and consultation for CB - Es completed by other JJPI staff and contractors. The Psychologist will also provide clinical supervision/consultation for students, staff clinicians, and other assigned fee-for-service clinicians on psychotherapy cases. In addition, this staff will provide therapy for 6 to 8 participants of higher need or participants with Medicare (Part B) insurance. This individual will be responsible for providing the highest quality clinical services to participants in JJPI's Safety and Responsibility Programs. The Psychologist will report to the Director of SRP. RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary Functions Provide the highest quality clinical services to participants at Joseph J. Peters Institute. Develop and implement innovative techniques to serve the participants of JJPI more effectively. Conduct and supervise Comprehensive Biopsychosocial Evaluations (CB - Es), Comprehensive Biopsychosocial Re-evaluations (CB - Rs), risk assessments, and consultation for CB - Es completed by other JJPI staff and contractors. Provide clinical supervision/consultation for students, senior clinicians, and other assigned fee-for-service clinicians on psychotherapy cases. Lead the evaluation team and conduct biweekly group consultations for those evaluators. Conduct resiliency reviews and staffings for participants who are at an impasse in treatment or are ready for discharge. Provide therapy to 6 to 8 participants with Medicare Part B insurance and/or higher-risk individuals. Be responsible for ensuring the clinical quality of evaluation reports provided by self and supervisees as well as ensuring the timeliness of completion of reports (30 days for final drafts and 2 weeks for initial drafts). Monitor and ensure high utilization levels and effectiveness of clinical work completed by supervisees. Provide evidence-based treatment to participants. Provide direct clinical supervision to 2-4 student externs/student interns/post-doctoral interns at any one time. Provide direct supervision to assigned staff clinicians. Provide clinical consultation to contracted fee-for-service clinicians. Clinical Responsibilities Provides CB - Es and CB - Rs for adolescents and adults in SRP (at least 10 evaluations per month) Analyzes and integrates data gathered during evaluations to provide diagnostic conclusions and treatment recommendations Provides comprehensive written reports to guide treatment and to respond to referral sources Provides clinical supervision of evaluations and related psychological testing to other JJPI SRP clinicians/evaluators/students Attends clinical meetings and scheduled supervisions Maintains clinical records in accordance with agency, managed care, and licensing requirements Seeks out appropriate professional training to meet licensing requirements Complete training/certification in selected agency EB - Ps (e.g., PE and DBT) Assists in developing training programs for other staff Assists in developing and implementing new, innovative treatment strategies Develops and maintains professional relationships with other agencies Supervises the SRP clinic one evening per week Provides weekly on-call services once every 8 to 10 weeks as assigned Major Job Criteria & Performance Standards Complete progress notes within 24 hours of individual sessions (or 72 hours of group sessions) with participants. Complete updated resiliency plans every 180 days or as clinically indicated. Complete a discharge summary within 48 hours of termination date. Follow up appropriately with the participant and Probation when a participant misses a session. Complete and provide statistical reports (case management and clinical hours) at the end of each week/pay period. Provide CB - Es and CB - Rs to participants in SRP and Youth SRP if needed. Provide MSE and Clinical Formulation for CB - Es. Conduct resiliency reviews and staffings when needed. Administrative Responsibilities Supervises clinicians, evaluators, and students performing evaluation services Coordinates completion of the evaluation report within 30 days of the intake appointment Ensures the timely and accurate submission of all evaluation-related paperwork by self and supervisees Assists in developing training programs for other staff Assists with tracking and monitoring of evaluation reports Organizational Responsibilities Works effectively with other staff and contributes to the development of a team approach to treatment Provides input into new programs and works to implement more effective methods of delivering services Understands and communicates with other programs within the agency and works to foster a collaborative team approach across all programs Assists in developing and maintaining a referral network Supports and takes an active role in JJPI's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion movement/projects Financial Responsibilities Understand the impact of the caseload requirements on the financial performance of the agency. Understand the payment source of each participant. Complete all forms required for submission of bills for services in a timely manner and in accordance with JJPI policies and procedures. Work with other staff to develop new treatment programs to promote the financial performance of the agency. Marketing Promote the agency in interactions with other agencies and professionals. Participate in market planning for the agency as required. QUALIFICATIONS: Doctoral degree in a field related to clinical work required Licensure in Pennsylvania as a psychologist required At least 5 years of clinical experience in forensics required, specifically in working with individuals who have engaged in illegal sexual behaviors and individuals who have engaged in domestic and intimate partner violence Must have experience and training in conducting risk assessments for violence and sex offending (i.e., STATIC, V-RAG) COMPENSATION: PHMC Salary Grade 22 Salary is commensurate with experience.
