The Clinical Operations Specialist will support the achievement of the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine by providing and supporting the clinical operations across multiple care areas that divisional faculty are providers of record. As a member of the team within the Division, the Clinical Operations Specialist will strive to always provide the best support possible to ensure high quality patient care. Additionally, the Clinical Operations Specialist will work independently on assigned projects and provide invaluable support to support the mission of the University of Maryland School of Medicine and FPI. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Works closely with the Clinical Operations Manager to ensure successful implementation and utilization of EMR. Supports and actively participates in development and organization of operational workflows. Coordinates and supports the operational and technical preparation of FPI practices for EMR implementation. Ensures that practice staff, clinical care providers, and administration are appropriately informed, engaged, and have the tools and resources needed to successfully complete the design, build, and implementation of ambulatory workflows in the EMR. Responsible for implementing support processes, identifying required resources, workflows and escalation processes. Assist with the oversight of all chart abstraction activities. Completes mandatory employee health, workers compensation, HR processes and other training and requirements in required time frame to ensure compliance with all FPI rules and regulations. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based upon departmental needs. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of 3 years' experience in a patient care setting Knowledge of EPIC scheduling and billing system or other Practice Management systems Strong PC proficiency Total Rewards. The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland's Faculty Physician's Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
