Surgical Technologist | Full Time | 72 Hours Bi-Weekly Rotation of Shifts Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist functions as an integral member of the surgical team, providing safe, efficient, and high-quality intra-operative care. This role supports surgeons and perioperative staff by preparing the operating room, ensuring proper instrumentation and supplies, and maintaining sterile technique throughout all phases of the procedure. The technologist demonstrates competency in age-specific care and adheres to established clinical standards, safety protocols, and Meritus Health values. Key Responsibilities Work collaboratively with the surgical team to provide safe and effective intra-operative care Prepare the operating room with appropriate instruments, equipment, and supplies Demonstrate proficiency in sterile technique and surgical field maintenance Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team during procedures Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and draping under RN direction Handle surgical instruments and equipment safely and efficiently Participate in surgical counts and documentation in accordance with policy Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment before, during, and after procedures Support age-specific patient care needs and demonstrate competency across patient populations Uphold Meritus Health's values of compassion, excellence, integrity, and collaboration Minimum Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent required Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program required Experience Clinical experience in an acute care setting preferred Previous experience as a surgical technologist preferred Licensure/ Certification Current BLS (CPR) certification in compliance with Meritus Health policy required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Demonstrates knowledge and practice of basic patient-care concepts Demonstrates basic surgical case preparation skills Ability to work effectively in a team-based, fast-paced surgical environment Strong communication and organizational skills Caring for our Team We are committed to supporting the well-being and professional development of our team members through a comprehensive benefits package, which includes: Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance.
