We are hiring an Associate Bio-Stat Research Analyst to join the Health Plan and Quality Improvement Solutions team at BCBST! In this role, you will function as an analyst supporting a wide range of internal business partners by producing recurring and ad-hoc reporting across clinical, operational, and financial domains. The team works with diverse data sources and audiences, including operational finance, utilization management, care advance case management, and Blue. Care, with a strong focus on cost, utilization, and performance analytics using claims and authorization data. You will be a strong candidate for this role if you bring the following skills and experience:Familiarity working with data in an analytical or research capacity; specific tools are flexible Demonstrated critical thinking and an analytical mindset with the ability to understand what is happening within complex datasets. Exposure to or interest in using AI tools to enhance data querying, analysis, and problem-solving. Adaptability and willingness to evolve processes as tools, technologies, and business needs change. The following are desirable, but not required:Familiarity with AI tooling and concepts. Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Google Big. Query, Snowflake, AWS)Experience or education using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI)Familiarity with clinical terminology (physical and/or behavioral health)Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, or other government healthcare programs. Exposure to claims, authorization data, case management, or managed care operations. Note:Working hours must align to Eastern Standard Time. This is a remote, work-from-home position, but the final round of interviews will take place on-site in our Chattanooga, TN office. Sponsorship is not available for this role. Job Responsibilities. Analyzing and processing data, building and maintaining models and report templates, and developing dynamic, data-driven solutions. Supporting Consultants on using business intelligence data for predictive analytics and facilitating implementation of new tools. Identifying appropriate performance measures to be produced including lifts, efficiencies, confidence intervals, and other statistical metrics. Under supervision, providing business clients with detailed, actionable reports documenting the findings from, data processing, and data analysis. Job Qualifications. Education. Undergraduate bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 2 years working experience is required, OR Master's Degree or PhD. with no experience is acceptable. Skills\Certifications. Competent to convert research protocol to programming specification logically and meaningfully. Attention to detail, exceptional documentation abilities, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently under general supervision and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast paced environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to participate in project design and interpretation with Research Staff. Must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical co-workers.
