Compensation: $6,395 for a 3- or 4-credit section, to be paid out semi-monthly over the course of the semester. The Biology Department of the School of Sciences and Health Professions at Simmons University is seeking applicants for an adjunct instructor position in the Biology Department to teach Biol 113-02 in person, to begin September 2, 2026 and end December 19, 2026. Course Description: Biol 113 – General Biology introduces basic principles of biology, including cell structure and function, biochemistry and metabolism, Mendelian and molecular genetics, and discussion of the theory of evolution. Includes lecture and laboratory sessions. Responsibilities: The adjunct instructor will be responsible for lecturing and leading in class discussions on both Tuesdays and Thursdays:BIOL 113-02 – T/ Th 11:00 AM - 12:20 PM - Classes start September 2, 2026 and end December 14, 2026 with final exams December 16-19, 2026. Grades are due on January 4, 2027 at 10:00 AM. Requirements: Master’s or PhD. degree, experience teaching Biology courses. Preferred Qualifications: experience teaching General Biology.
