As a construction inspector, you will be responsible for monitoring on-site construction activities and inspecting materials to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and contract documents. Your duties will include evaluating work related to excavations, drainage systems, road surfaces, and structural components; performing field measurements and calculations; preparing detailed inspection reports; and tracking contractor production rates. You will coordinate inspection phases with the contractor's superintendent and agency personnel, and support project procedures. This role reports to both the project manager and the project administrator, playing a critical part in maintaining construction quality, accuracy, and adherence to technical standards. Salary Range: $150,000 - $176,000 What You'll Do: Inspect, observe, and document construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, schedules, and contract documents. Perform mathematical calculations and field measurements to verify completed work and support payment processes. Maintain daily inspection reports detailing contractor labor, equipment usage, and material quantities received and verified. Assist with design-related tasks, technical analyses, and field duties for transportation infrastructure projects. Support the development of construction plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, bid documents, and quantity takeoffs. Coordinate material testing and inspection activities with contractors and client partners to ensure adherence to schedules and contractual obligations. Aid in organizing tasks and responsibilities for field inspection personnel. Participate in the review and assessment of change order logs, requests for information (RFIs), and cost proposals. What You'll Need: High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum five years of construction inspection experience. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software. Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Ability to obtain required certifications and pass appropriate qualification tests within specified time frames. This field position primarily operates in outdoor environments, which may include exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazards, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements. Physical demands may include frequent talking, hearing, standing, moving, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, balancing, coordination, and occasional sitting or operating a company vehicle. May require lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
