Maintains all permanent files of official City documents. Provides detailed minutes of actions taken during City Council meetings. Plans, coordinates, and conducts all municipal elections The employee will have the responsibility of: Attending city council meetings, most of which occur during the evening; oversees or performs an accurate recording of the proceedings in proper legislative terminology. Preparing, posting, and distributing city council agendas and packets. Planning, coordinating, and conducting joint city, school district and college district elections, including early voting and related duties. Administering the issuance of various municipal permits and deeds, including alcohol permits, taxi, shuttle, and limousine operating authority permits, assembly permits, block party permits, carnival and amusement permits, noise waivers and cemetery deeds in accordance with applicable city ordinances and other regulations. Serving as custodian of official city records and public documents; performs certification and recording for the city as required on legal documents and other records requiring such certification. Receiving, verifying, and certifying petitions submitted to the City Council. Wellness Events & Free Gym Membership Required Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: Graduation from a two-year college program, preferably with special focus in business management, records management, public administration, or a closely related field; and. Two (2) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience, with additional work experience substituting for the required education on a year for year basis Special Requirements: Must have a valid Texas drivers license by date-of-hire. Must obtain Texas Municipal Clerk Certification within 3 years of hire. Must be bondable
