Airbus is looking for multiple Machinist to join our team in Mobile, AL at our manufacturing facility. The candidate will work in the Machine Shop and set up/operate Computer Numeric Control (CNC) Production equipment as well as other manual shop equipment like milling machines and lathes. This requisition has multiple headcount for the following shifts... First shift (Mon-Fri 5:30 am-2:00 pm)Second Shift (Mon-Fri 1:30 pm-10:00 pm)Third shift (Sun-Thu 10:00 pm-6:30 am)Meet the team:The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities help assemble the finest aircraft in the world, along two (soon to be three) production lines for the A 220 and A 320 Family aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A 320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A 220 in 2019. Your challenges:Perform all aspects of machining to include setup and operation of equipment such as 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills, lathes, routers, lasers and manual milling machine and manual experience programming using CATIA or better required. Ability to read and write g-code using CAM software as the machine controller. Produce quality products in a timely manner using specifications and documents in conjunction with written work. Code programs for new parts that come into the shop. Create instructions for the setups. Review CAD design blueprints. Your boarding pass:High School diploma or equivalent. Five (5) years of experience working in a Machine/ Fab Shop. Five (5) years of experience in Aerospace (or related/transferrable field)Must be able to write code for CNC programming (create and correct DXF and GNH files) from drawings. Knowledge of blueprint drawing tolerance. Physical Requirements: Onsite or remote: 100% onsite. Vision: Adequate to enter and read material on computer screens or controls on machines, lathes, etc. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, giving of directions, and other business interactions. Hearing: Able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals. Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying sizes with or without amplification. Equipment Operation: Able to operate a personal computer, telephone, copier, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors. Carrying: Able to occasionally carry up to 20 lbs/9 kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues, or as part of continuous improvement projects. Lifting: Able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs/23 kg. Pushing/ Pulling: Able to push/pull items in office areas and on the shop floor. Sitting: Able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings. Squatting/ Kneeling: Able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves. Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of time while delivering information. Travel/ Mobility: Able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time. Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips, and sometimes on uneven indoor or outdoor surfaces. Citizenship:Must be able to work in the US without current or future need for visa sponsorship.
