Responsible for basic operational knowledge of all plant systems and perform operation of the equipment within specification and environmental regulations and will work under the direction of skilled Plant Technicians. Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment used in power generation facilities. This includes systems such as turbines, generators, pumps, valves, boilers, and auxiliary equipment. Responsible for continuing to learn the proper function and perform maintenance of equipment at a Gas Plant for the Gas fleet. Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation. This role will pay between $36 to $60 per hour depending upon experience. Role is also eligible for bonus, profit sharing and benefits for the employee and their eligible dependents. Job Description. Key Accountabilities: - Required duties depend upon the particular field requiring skills for advancement. - Assisting/performing troubleshooting of plant equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure proper functioning, daily maintenance, construction, demolition, overhauls, repair /replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and structures. - Provides skills for maintaining equipment at the plant - Perform clearances in LOTOV under the direction of a senior operator or supervisor - Utilizes/operates various types of hand, power, precision or machine tools necessary to support safe and productive work environments. - Maintains a working knowledge of all electronic control systems and computers - Understands and follows current safety and environmental regulations necessary to conduct all phases of work - Ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE - Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements: - 2 -4 years of related experience - Satisfactory completion of Tier 1 job performance measures composed of basic: Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrument and Controls - High School diploma or general education degree (GED) - If applicable, candidate will hold the required level of state license as recognized by the governing body of that particular state (MA, OH) - - Demonstrate standard computer based skills - Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills - If applicable, candidate must meet the requirement of PT 1-E - Key Metrics: - Progression of skill within primary skill set. - Satisfactory completion of Tier 2 job performance measures predominately composed of Sign-offs of demonstrating different primary and auxiliary system operations and maintenance relevant to primary skill. - Demonstrate continual self improvement in job skills and knowledge. Must successfully complete/pass POSS/ MASS testing. This position can be filled at a level I, II, III or IV depending on experience level. Physical Requirements:Ability to hear and understand audible alarms, detect changes in noise levels of equipment, accurately read and interpret instruments and gauges. Ability to respond to plant emergencies. Ability to perform demanding work at heights under adverse conditions and when participating in emergency activities. Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and enter confined spaces as required to complete assigned task. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
