In this role, you will obtain demographic details and insurance information and ensure proper scheduling. You will record patient history while obtaining pre-certification and authorization for patients. Most importantly, you will be the calm and reassuring presence patients need as they navigate their hospital experience. This is a Full- time 37.5 hr per week position with varied hours of 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM with a Monday through Friday and alternate Saturday's schedule. This position is located in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. Preferred Criteria:Knowledge of medical procedures, routines, regulations, and medical terminology. Experience working in a busy healthcare environment. Knowledge of Coding: ICD 9, CPT-4, health insurance benefits/requirements. EPIC - Required Criteria:1 year of clerical experience. High School Diploma or equivalent GED - Effective communication skills verbal and written. Superior Customer Service skills. Energetic, approachable individual with a desire to put patients first. Must be detailed oriented, able to problem solve and work independently. Ability to multi-task and perform various registration duties efficiently.
