The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Labor Standards and Safety, is recruiting for a. Project Assistant! No Cover Letter Required! This position is in the Supervisory Unit (SS) at a Range 16. This position is located in Anchorage. However, this position may be relocated within Alaska with necessary approvals where infrastructure allows. What You Will Be Doing:The Wage and Hour Project Assistant leads a team that ensures prevailing wage requirements are adhered to on public construction projects. They supervise a five member team across the state that supports the office by conducting audits of certified payrolls, performing on-site inspections of construction projects, reviewing and approving Notices of Award and Notices of Completion, providing technical assistance for users of the Department’s LSS Online Filing Services, and offering customer service to the public. The project assistant is also involved in the strategic planning for the office, oversees the office’s finances, and has control over office record keeping and reporting. The Working Environment You Can Expect:This job is located at 1251 Muldoon Ave STE 113 in Anchorage, Alaska. There is routine travel throughout the Anchorage area and occasional travel throughout the state for on-site inspections and staff visits.
