Credit Analysis & Surveillance of Leveraged Loans:Perform fundamental credit analysis of leveraged loan issuers, including business risk, financial risk, capital structure, and downside scenarios. Review borrower financial statements, operating performance, and transactions (primary market activities, amendments) to support credit underwriting and ongoing surveillance. Review performance trends of collateral at both the individual loan and portfolio level. Develop independent credit opinions with respect to underlying loan collateral and present findings to senior team members and credit office. Credit Facility Underwriting & Approval Support:Support senior team members in the underwriting, structuring, and approval of leverage facilities, including CLO warehouse and other structured credit facilities. Prepare and contribute to credit memoranda and approval materials supporting new facilities, amendments, renewals, and other approval actions. Assist in client due diligence process through preparation of meeting materials and active participation in client discussions. Evaluate eligibility, advance rates, concentration limits, and other structural features of leverage facilities in connection with underwriting decisions. Liaise with clients and internal partners (e.g., Capital Markets, Legal, Operations) throughout the underwriting and approval process. Present credit analysis and recommendations to senior team members and credit officers. Market Intelligence, Data Management & Reporting:Derive and share market updates from various sources (clients, news, professional networks); cultivate a strong understanding of the Direct Lending landscape – the players, roles, risks, opportunities – and speak to market dynamics with audiences internal and external. Maintain and enhance the team’s database used for credit monitoring, risk management, and internal reporting. Monitor direct lending and leveraged loan market activity to support underwriting views and portfolio surveillance. Contribute to process improvement, reporting automation, and data quality initiatives across the platform. Required Qualifications:6 months of Investment Banking experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education. Desired Qualifications:Completion of, or current enrollment in, a formal corporate credit training program (e.g., internal bank programs or third-party credit training)Strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting; experience with automation or data tools such as Databases, VBA, Power Query, Power BI, Alteryx, or similar is a plus. Strong technical and analytical skills, including cash flow analysis, leverage and coverage metrics, and capital structure analysis. Working knowledge of leveraged loan markets, direct lending, and structured credit products. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate credit views in written memoranda and discussions with senior stakeholders. Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills with a strong attention to detail. Solid problem-solving skills and sound credit judgment, with the ability to operate with increasing independence over time. Ability to work effectively both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced, deal- and deadline-driven environment. A BS/ BA degree or higher in business administration, economics, finance, or a related field. Job Expectations:Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. Ability to work on site.
