The San Leandro Hospital (SLH) Administrative Assistant-Radiology performs clerical duties including answering phones, scheduling examinations, directing inquiries, maintaining files, including diagnostic film and reports. Performs related duties as required. DUTIES ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification. Receives patients, visitors and family into the department. Prioritizes requests and functions as an information center. Instructs patients in completion of medical history and information forms. Enters data in CRT, verifies accuracy and corrects data as appropriate. Processes physician requests for radiology services. Provides information to physicians and is the communication center of the department. Mails or faxes correspondence to outside medical facilities. Complies and records medical charts. Establishes and maintains files and records on an ongoing basis. Answers phones, route calls, and provides information. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of the work area. Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, environmental and infection control standards. Participates in education program and in-service meetings. Attends staff meetings as required. Accepts flexibility in duty assignments and schedules. Holiday coverage required. Adheres to department and hospital policies and procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School diploma and some college coursework required. Associate s or Bachelor s degree preferred. Preferred Experience: One year in a diagnostic radiology department or medical office. PAY RANGE: $32.17 - $40.75/hour The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate s experience, education, skills, licenses and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
