Include direct inpatient and outpatient clinical care, teaching medical students, residents and fellows, and university/public service. Depending on the faculty series (Clinical X versus HSCP), there will be variable effort towards scholarly activity which may include clinical and translational research. Demonstrated aptitude and/or potential for excellence in these domains is required. The division includes 37 clinical and research faculty, two associate physicians, 13 fellows, advanced practice providers, and numerous administrative, financial and research staff, and operates a large and diverse clinical and research program. The division is a major component of the NCI-designated UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center and has a strong presence in developmental therapeutics within the national cancer clinical trials cooperative groups. The division research portfolio is particularly broad and spans laboratory-based early translation to population sciences and health outcome. The UC Davis School of Medicine is in the top quarter of US medical schools for NIH funding and has a Clinical and Translational Science Awards hub since 2006. Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application) - Must possess M. D., M. D./ PhD., D. O. or equivalent degree(s). - Board certified in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). - Board certification/eligibility by the ABIM in medical oncology and/or hematology. - Medical licensure or eligible for licensure in the state of California. - Experience in and the ability to teach trainees at multiple levels on benign hematology and/or oncology on inpatient consult service and in clinics. - Ability and experience to conduct scholarly/ clinical/ translational research. - Demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment. Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position) - Evidence of administering clinical trials and writing investigator-initiated trials is desirable (for Clinical X candidates). - A record of publication in peer-reviewed journals is required (for Clinical X candidates). - Evidence of success in obtaining extramural funding and/or administering clinical trials is highly desirable.
