Following complex and rarely seen surgeries, our Team sets standards for post-operative care. Approximately 70–90 patients are admitted to the PACU each day. We experience a particularly high case mix index because of our reputation for surgical quality and care. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care. Patient Navigator – PACU - Mid Shift. As a Patient Navigator, you'll discover what sets us apart - passion for the individuals and families in our care. Our mission is to provide our greater community with excellence in post operative care, patient safety, education, clinical research, and science. As part of this mission, the Patient Navigator seeks to empower and educate patients on how best to access and utilize healthcare services; to support patients and their caregivers to achieve a successful plan for continuity of care; and to optimize appropriate health and social service resources. The Patient Navigator functions as the primary care coordinator for patients and collaborates with key clinical staff to ensure comprehensive care and treatment. Coordinates appointments, provides logistical support, responsible for booking surgical procedures, acts as a liaison between the patient and surgical team, directs patient inquires to appropriate staff, and facilitates collection of medical records, insurance, and financial information. This position includes direct contact and communication with patient, in person, on telephone or via e-mail. Join our Perioperative Services Team, and help us deliver superior customer service to our diverse local community. This is a full-time position working 12:00 pm-8:00 pm Monday-Friday at New. York-Presbyterian/ Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Preferred Criteria. Fluent in Spanish Experience in a healthcare setting working directly with patients. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience Required Criteria. High School diploma or GED - Diverse and culturally sensitive customer service skills. Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
