As this role requires on-site work, out of our Creative Studios in Westlake, Ohio, we will focus on candidates that currently reside in Northeast Ohio. The Associate Data Engineer supports the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and workflows that enable analytics and reporting. This role works closely with internal stakeholders to troubleshoot data issues, enhance datasets, and contribute to scalable data solutions. The Associate Data Engineer also assists in improving data processes, documenting best practices, and exploring new technologies to strengthen the data platform. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Partner with internal stakeholders to troubleshoot data issues, fulfill data requests, and improve existing datasets - Support the development and maintenance of ELT pipelines, including adding and integrating new data sources - Ingest and transform data from external vendor APIs and internal systems - Identify opportunities to improve data workflows for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency - Contribute to documentation of data pipelines, processes, and best practices to support knowledge sharing - Research and evaluate new tools, technologies, and approaches to enhance team capabilities Required Length & Type of Experience: - 1 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related technical field Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Foundational proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar - Basic SQL skills for data querying and transformation - Familiarity with Linux/ Unix environments and command line tools - Basic understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) - Foundational knowledge of software engineering principles (OOP, SDLC, Agile methodologies) - Internship or academic project experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related field - Exposure to modern data platforms and cloud ecosystems (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI) - Relevant certifications in data engineering, cloud platforms, or analytics - Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
