Document Capture Technician - Medical Records - Days

The Document Capture Technician is responsible for retrieving all patient records within one business day following treatment episode; accurately and timely prepping, scanning and indexing all documents according to established written processes to ensure a complete and accurate EMR for all patients treated in our facility. Essential Job Duties. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Retrieves all records of discharged patients from units on daily basis, ensuring all records are received. Reports to supervisor any records not received within 1 business day of discharge. Prepares records for scanning according to written process, meeting established benchmarks for both accuracy and productivity. Maintains scanners in optimal working condition by performing a thorough cleaning at least once daily, ensuring settings are maintain at established parameters, and immediately reporting any issues with the equipment or software to supervisor. Accurately scans records according to written process meeting established benchmarks for both accuracy and productivity. Indexes scanned documents according to written process ensuring all documents are assigned to the correct encounter and document type and meeting established benchmarks for quality, accuracy and productivity. Files indexed charts in date order on a daily basis for 90 day destruction hold. Required Education and Experience. High School Diploma or equivalent. Required License/ Certifications. N/ A
