Essential Functions/ Job Competencies/ Physical Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description. Prepares fiscal reporting and support documentation reports for various grants on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Executes duties pertaining to active budgets and the implementation for grant awards including preparing budget alignments, revised budgets, and other fiscal reports. Processes incoming invoices, travel logs, transfers, and other forms in a timely manner. Evaluates budget proposals and funding requests. Assists program supervisors in managing grant activity; monitors and analyzes budgets. Performs related work as required. COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIES - Knowledge of:Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including computers and applicable software. Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Knowledge of budget summary and contractual obligations for each grant project. Knowledge of budget and grants management Knowledge of city processes-travel policy, accounts payable policies and procedures, and budget transfer processes. Knowledge of internal policies and procedure. Skills and Abilities:Skill in organization and time management Skill in performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to meet schedules and deadlines of the work. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries. Ability to develop and implement system and internal procedures to monitor expenditures for various grants. Ability to evaluate and analyze documents. Ability to assess the departmental/program needs to ensure grant funding. WORK ENVIRONMENT/ CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Physical Effort Requirements Position will have the following exposures. Office or similar indoor environment, relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited - college or university in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Council of Higher Education Accreditation (C. H. E. A.)
Valid Licenses and Certifications
Required Licenses or Certifications. Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
