ENSCO is seeking a motivated and skilled Data Scientist/ Engineer to join our Machine Learning Data team within Seismic and Acoustics. This role is responsible for data engineering and organization, data science, and machine learning, with a specific focus on acoustic sensor data. This role supports ingestion, processing, storage, labeling, and analysis of time-series acoustic data enabling machine learning, signal processing, monitoring, and operational analytics applications. Qualifications Required - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field - 3 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or scientific data systems - Experience working with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets - Strong proficiency in Python for data engineering and automation - Experience building and maintaining ETL/ ELT pipelines - Experience with SQL and relational/non-relational databases - Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud - Experience with distributed data processing frameworks (Spark, Dask, Ray, etc.) - Understanding of time-series data architectures and streaming pipelines - Experience using version control and CI/ CD practices (Git, GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, etc.) - Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) - Experience handling high-volume sensor, waveform, or acoustic datasets - Familiarity with digital signal processing concepts including: - FF - Ts - spectrograms - filtering - sampling theory - feature extraction - Experience managing metadata and annotation workflows for sensor datasets - Ability to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance, for which you must be a US Citizen. Qualifications Desired - Master’s degree in a related technical field - Experience with machine learning data pipelines and ML - Ops workflows - Experience deploying real-time or near-real-time streaming systems - Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message brokers (Kafka, Rabbit. MQ, MQTT) - Experience with HPC environments or GPU-enabled workflows - Background in underwater acoustics, sonar, bioacoustics, seismic data, radar, or RF signal processing - Experience with audio analytics or classification systems - Familiarity with common acoustic data formats and standards - Experience developing automated labeling or feature extraction workflows for acoustic signals - Experience designing data lakes and large-scale archival systems - Familiarity with Parquet, Zarr, HDF 5, Net. CDF, or similar scientific data formats - Experience optimizing storage and retrieval performance for time-series data - Experience implementing security controls for sensitive data environments - Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Cloud.
