JOB DUTIES Under supervision, completes daily meter reading and billing exceptions which prevent the billing system from generating timely bills (e.g.: bill segment errors, pending bills, start/stop service agreements, accounts without bill/meter cycles) to ensure correct bills are sent to customers. Resolves exceptions for accounts where meter readings fall outside specific parameters. Initiates field investigations and evaluates results. Performs calculations and makes various adjustments, including those for leaks, according to policy. Prepares underground leak adjustment, homestead, and other billing-related letters. Processes requests for various programs. Works with meter reading computer applications. Assists with adjustments of data to ensure accuracy. May be temporarily assigned to perform call center duties during peak call periods, special project support, or as mandated by business needs. Performs other job-related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field from an accredited college or university preferred. Two years of full time paid experience in accounting with familiarity in account detail review, preparing and posting adjustments, and auditing functions, or two years of full time paid experience in a billing environment with responsibility for account set up and correction of customer billing based on analysis of data and rates. (Substitution: Two years of any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may substitute for each year of education lacking.) Must have excellent oral and written communications skill and an intermediate skill level using Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be able to type at a speed of 25 words per minute with 80% accuracy. Must also possess good organizational and time-management skills. Supplemental Information Reminder: Minimum qualifications must be met as of the last day of the accepting applications. RESIDENCY CREDITA person who has had as his/her primary residence in the City of Cleveland for at least one year at the time of filing a Civil Service application, and desires to take an entry-level Civil Service examination, shall, if a passing grade on the written examination is attained, have ten (10) points added to his/her passing score. Of. Residency 0321.pdf. VETERANS’ PREFERENCE Veterans' preference will be awarded, when applicable, to eligible veterans in accordance with Civil Service Rules 4.40 E, 4.40 F and 4.40 G. Proof of active service or a DD Form 214, must be presented to the Commission at the time of filing application for the examination in which credit is sought in order to qualify for veterans' credit. If the applicant has received an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions that applicant shall receive an additional five (5) points added to their raw score on the examination; or ten (10) points are added to their raw score on the examination if applicant’s supporting documentation indicates more than fifteen percent (15%) service connected disability. NOTE: Only DD Form 214 (long form) or an official armed service document indicating type of discharge or separation and the dates of active service will be accepted as proof of active service.
