Looking for candidates that have good communication skills and well organized as you deal with not only staff within the Transfer Coordinator’s Office (TCO), but also multiple staff within the Correctional Facilities. Candidates will learn the various duties within the TCO, allowing you to expand your knowledge. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply. Essential Functions Reviews, modifies, denies and approves recommendations concerning the transfer of adult individuals in custody from one institution to another. Screens all packets to determine if applicants meet established criteria. Schedules county intakes to reception centers from all state counties. Reviews and responds to written, telephone inquiries and requests from individuals in custody, individuals in custody family members, attorneys, government officials, and Department of Corrections administrators regarding transfers, Keep Separate From (KSF) lists, and other issues as assigned. Communicates Offender 360 (O 360) procedures and coordinates all changes with data processing staff. Makes periodic visits to adult institutions to review conditions and procedures to ensure that they are in compliance with Agency policy and directives. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college supplemented by a master's degree in one of the behavioral sciences. Requires two (2) years professional experience in an adult correctional facility or related field. Preferred Qualifications Prefers at least two (2) years of professional work experience assigning individuals in custody to the appropriate correctional facility security level designation such as a such as maximum, medium, minimum-security, impact incarceration program, or adult transition center levels. Prefers at least two (2) years of professional work experience processing transfers of individuals in custody in between correctional facilities. Prefers at least two (2) years of professional work experience working with correctional reception centers. Prefers at least two (2) years of professional work experience scheduling intakes of individuals in custody from various types of correctional facilities. Prefers at least one (1) year of professional work experience reviewing bed availability at correctional facilities. Prefers at least one (1) year of professional work experience responding to correspondence from other individuals in custody, family members, and/or other officials regarding individuals in custody correctional facility assignment. Prefers at least one (1) year of professional work experience making periodic visits to correctional facilities ensuring compliance with correctional agency policies and directives. Conditions of Employment Requires ability to pass the IDOC/ IDJJ background check. Requires the ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs, regardless of the position held, is prohibited. Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
