Field & Virtual Construction Coordination. Act as the primary, empowered point of contact between field Project Managers, Operations Managers, Engineering and the VC team. Define virtual construction requirements based on project schedules, fabrication needs, and field priorities. Enforce alignment between field expectations and virtual construction capabilities. Require timely responses, decisions, and inputs necessary to maintain virtual construction progress. Has the authority to set up all VC cost codes required. Monitor daily VC logs to ensure obstacles are resolved in a timely manner. Schedule & Deliverables Authority. Works directly with VC Manager to establish virtual construction milestones aligned with the project schedule. Enforce deadlines for model deliverables required for fabrication, layout, and installation. Monitor schedule changes and direct required adjustments to virtual construction priorities. Escalate schedule conflicts or missed deadlines to project and operations leadership as needed. Submittals, Materials & Equipment Control. Define required submittal timelines that directly impact virtual construction workflows. Require approved material and equipment information before modeling and fabrication release, including but not limited to Spec Matrix, submittals on equipment and PV - Fs. Enforce model updates based on approved submittals and vendor information. Identify and escalate risks caused by late or incomplete submittals. Escalate changes from original ACP plans to field operational changes. Information Management & External Coordination. Define and communicate required information from owners, engineers, and general contractors. Enforce receipt of background drawings, specifications, and design clarifications. Coordinate and track RFIs and design decisions critical to virtual construction progress. Document assumptions and, when required information is not provided, formally communicate impacts and constraints. Issue Resolution & Escalation. Identify gaps, delays, and breakdowns in information flow. Proactively escalate unresolved issues that jeopardize schedules, fabrication, or field work. Serve as a neutral authority to resolve conflicts between field priorities and virtual construction constraints. Support leadership with clear documentation of risks, impacts, and recommended actions. Process Governance & Continuous Improvement. Enforce standard workflows and communication protocols between field and virtual construction teams. Support development and refinement of requirement tracking tools and dashboards. Drive accountability by clearly defining responsibilities, deadlines, and expectations. Support Field Operations in the understanding of VC production. Required Qualifications 3 years of experience in mechanical, piping, plumbing, or construction projects. Strong understanding of construction schedules, submittals, and project execution workflows. Proven ability to manage deadlines, priorities, and competing demands. Experience working directly with field project managers and construction leadership. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to assert requirements professionally. Field experience as a Project Manager or Project Engineer. Preferred Qualifications. Experience coordinating with owners, engineers, and general contractors. Familiarity with virtual construction and engineering processes. Experience supporting fabrication or prefabrication workflows. What Success Looks Like in This Role. Virtual construction requirements clearly defined, communicated, and met. Deadlines enforced with minimal last-minute disruptions. Timely receipt of required information from internal and external stakeholders. Reduced schedule impacts caused by late decisions or incomplete inputs. Strong accountability and trust across field, project management, and virtual construction teams. Reporting Structure. Advanced Construction Planner. Handles small in-house projects Field ACPs as required by project workload.
