Lockheed Martin (MFC) is seeking a Materials Engineer to support the Orlando, FL site. The engineer will be working in the Applied Research optical-materials lab. This position offers immersive experience in a research environment where cutting-edge optical-device technologies are developed for aerospace and defense applications. The engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design, micro- and nano-scale fabrication, and characterization of photonic engineered components, including meta-optics, photonic integrated circuits, and quantum optical devices. Candidate must be proficient in full wave simulation design, including but not limited to Python/ Julia, Lab. VIEW, MATLAB, C/ C , Zemax Optic. Studio, Lumerical FDTD, COMSOL Multiphysics. For the nano/micro-fabrication work, the applicant should be experienced with lithography and 3 D laser write systems. The role also involves extensive material-characterization activities that span optical, structural, and mechanical domains.
