NC State Continuing and Lifelong Education (NCS - Ca. LE) is a division of the Provost within the Office of the Vice Provost for Continuing Education. The Mc. Kimmon Conference and Training Center (MCTC) reports to the Continuing & Professional Education Director. MCTC has 33,000 square feet of meeting space and assists with set-ups, exhibits, educational event gatherings, catering, and printing services which include shipping and receiving, and can provide 650 spaces of free parking. MCTC works with campus partners, private/corporate business industry, and local, state, and federal government. Primary purpose of the position:The Event Preparation Staff plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of various events, including workshops, conferences, and seminars. For example, the Bar Exam, Cyber Security, Engineering Career Fair, and Global Green Energy. Event Staff responsibilities span before and after an event. Here are the key duties: Planning and Preparation: The Logistics Manager/ Co-Crew Leader will provide the Event Prep set-up instructions via Social Tables, clients, or coordinators for each space. Ensure precise collaboration and accuracy in setting up event spaces are complete. Manage all logistics and manage all scheduling concerns Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations. Post-Event:Break down all of the equipment and place the equipment (chairs/tables) in the storage area. Other Work/ Responsibilities: Occasional specialized duties may include Audio/ Visual technical assistance and operation of specialized equipment as training allows. The Event Preparation Staff contributes to exceptional customer service and ensures that events run smoothly, efficiently, and positively reflect on the brand. This job requires the ability to lift 90 pounds regularly and involves extensive standing throughout the shift. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm under pressure. Exceptional work performance and professional conduct throughout your employment are essential. Excellent attention to detail. Department Required Skills Minimum Experience/ Education: High School graduate or GED equivalent.
