About this Job The Cyber Crime Analyst applies advanced technical skills to support criminal investigations in the cyber domain. This position focuses on digital forensics, cyber threat investigations, and technical analysis in support of law enforcement operations. The Cyber Crime Analyst supports digital forensic examinations, cyber investigations, and incident response operations in a law enforcement environment. This is an entry-level position designed for strong recent graduates with a solid technical foundation and a genuine interest in digital investigations. You are not expected to know everything on day one. You are expected to have fundamentals, analytical ability, and the willingness to grow. Minimum Qualifications Three years of experience in law enforcement, cybersecurity, intelligence, or investigatory work plus one year of experience in digital forensics examinations or cybersecurity; OR - Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in digital forensics examinations or cybersecurity; ORA bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in digital forensics examinations or cybersecurity; ORA bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information systems. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:- Conduct digital forensic examinations of computers, networks, and electronic media - Analyze and interpret complex technical evidence for criminal investigations - Support sensitive and large-scale cybercrime investigations - Assist with incident response and cyber emergency operations - Provide technical guidance to investigators and prosecutors - Participate in multi-agency task forces and investigative meetings - Evaluate and integrate new technologies into investigative workflows - Deliver training or instruction on cyber investigative tools and methodologies. Case, FTK, Autopsy, Magnet AXIOM, X-Ways, Volatility)Basic memory forensics awareness. Timeline construction from multiple artifacts. Malware triage exposure (hashes, strings, sandboxing)SIEM exposure (Splunk, Elastic, Open. Search, or similar)Threat intelligence concepts (IO - Cs, MITRE ATT&CK, STIX/ TAXII)OSINT familiarity (Maltego, Shodan, Virus. Total, WHOIS/ DNS analysis)Python or PowerShell scripting for automation. Participation in cyber clubs, competitions, labs, and internships. Comfort presenting technical information to others. Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Cyber Crime Analyst 1 or 2, depending on experience. Work Schedule: Work hours are 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (40 hrs./week) Monday - Friday. Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
