The Registered Nurse (RN) in the outpatient pain management practice provides comprehensive clinical nursing care to patients with acute and chronic pain conditions, The RN supports physicians and advanced practice providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, including clinical assessments, procedural support, patient education, care coordination, and regulatory compliance, This role is critical to optimizing clinic flow, enhancing patient safety, and improving overall patient experience, Key Responsibilities Clinical Care Patient Assessment Perform comprehensive nursing assessments including vital signs, pain scores, and medical history updates Triage patient needs and communicate clinical concerns to providers Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition Procedural Support Prepare patients for interventional pain procedures such as epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, and trigger point injections Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during procedures Maintain sterile technique and proper equipment setup Monitor patients during recovery and ensure safe discharge Patient Education Advocacy Educate patients and families on pain management plans and procedures Provide post-procedure instructions and follow-up care guidance Promote non-pharmacologic pain management strategies Serve as a patient advocate and liaison between patients and providers Care Coordination Coordinate referrals to ancillary services including physical therapy, imaging, and pharmacy Assist with scheduling follow-up appointments and continuity of care Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless patient care Documentation Compliance Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record Support compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state regulations Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits Quality Safety Adhere to infection prevention and patient safety standards Participate in incident reporting and root cause analysis as needed Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Licensure Certifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey Basic Life Support (BLS) required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred Experience Minimum 2 3 years of nursing experience Outpatient, procedural, or pain management experience preferred Experience with sedation monitoring and recovery care preferred Skills Competencies Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills Knowledge of pain management therapies and procedures Excellent communication and patient education skills Proficiency in electronic medical records Strong organizational and time management abilities
