Medical Director Cardiovascular Hospitalists will engage physicians, and work with the Hospitalist/ Med Surg Lane and CV Clinical Services through the CV Clinical Programs and with leadership at Intermountain Medical Center or St. George Regional Hospital. Medical Director champions provider growth and development, innovation, and continuous improvement. The Medical Director promotes excellence in the fundamentals of extraordinary care by engaging physicians, APP's, and teams across Intermountain Health. Job Essentials. Point person for calls from their direct report CV Hospitalists regarding personal emergencies, sick call/emergency coverage, high census days/pull team activation. Responsible for health, wellness, and engagement of the CV Hospitalists. Participate with Hospitalist/ Med Surg Ops Lane to develop and operationalize region wide initiatives. Attend twice monthly lead Hospitalist meetings, and monthly 1:1 meeting with Sr. Medical Director, Med Surg Operations. Participate with CV leadership at Intermountain Medical Center or St. George Regional Hospital, and system CV Clinical Program leadership to develop and operationalize Intermountain Medical Center or St. George Regional Hospital and region wide cardiovascular initiatives. In conjunction with Intermountain cardiologists, coordinate and supervise CV unit patient care and patient flow at their hospital. Point person to be contacted by Hospital Administrators, nursing leadership, ancillary services, etc. Responsible for reviewing Safety and Quality concerns for CV Hospitalists and providing feedback, involving escalation to the Med Surg Triad and/or Intermountain Medical Group as necessary. Supervise and review ongoing group member participation with meetings, initiatives, sign off direct reports for mandatory learning (powered air-purifying respiratory, isolation precautions, catheter associated urinary tract infection, central line associated blood stream infection). Prepare and run monthly CV Hospitalist meetings. Share important communication from senior leadership at Intermountain Medical Center or St. George Regional Hospital, Med Surg Ops, and CV Ops/ CVCP with CV Hospitalists. Review billing and coding practice of direct report Hospitalists and provide education as directed by billing and coding specialists. Draft and maintain the schedule ensuring accurate coverage and shift counts. Lead the recruiting and hiring of group members. Reports to Senior Hospitalist Medical Director; Med Surg Operations. Minimum Qualifications. Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree. Education must be obtained through an ACGME or AOA accredited institution. Degree will be verified. ABMS or equivalent AOA active Board certification. Active Medical Licensure, or in process of obtaining licensure. Two years of experience leading successful improvements in clinical settings. Experience with change management with the ability to provide leadership in the adaptation and implementation of new processes or technology that enhance safety. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS.
