We are seeking a Principal Marking Process Engineer to play a critical role in the validation and integration of advanced inkjet print engine technologies across our product portfolio. This position focuses on integrating complex marking systems into fully functioning products while working at the intersection of mechanical systems, materials science, fluid behavior, image quality, and process engineering. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams, manufacturing partners, and global suppliers to drive performance, reliability, and innovation throughout the product lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving highly technical challenges, leading investigations, and influencing product performance through deep technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration. What You’ll Do. Lead the engineering integration of inkjet marking systems into fully functioning products. Plan and execute structured experiments to characterize system behaviors impacting printhead life, component reliability, and image quality. Analyze system performance and reliability data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Drive technical investigations and continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, quality, reliability, and overall system performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, controls, materials science, systems engineering, manufacturing, and supplier partners. Work closely with global suppliers to provide technical guidance and support throughout development, launch, and post-launch activities. Develop and maintain technical documentation including specifications, test plans, design guides, and engineering reports. Support validation activities, manufacturing builds, and field investigations as needed. Who You Are. Master’s degree or higher in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Deep experience with marking systems and understand the complex interactions between inks, printheads, fluids, and image quality. Strong technical foundations in physics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, mechanical design, and material behavior. Hands-on engineer who enjoys testing, troubleshooting, experimentation, and root-cause analysis. Communicate technical concepts clearly and can translate complex findings into actionable recommendations. You thrive in collaborative environments and work effectively across engineering disciplines and supplier organizations 10 years of engineering experience spanning research, development, validation, and product commercialization. Preferred Qualifications. Proven track record of innovation, including ideation, invention, and patent development. Experience leading technical exchanges and collaborating with global suppliers. Experience supporting product launches and post-launch performance improvement initiatives. Additional Information. Occasional travel may be required to support suppliers, manufacturing activities, or field investigations. Candidates must be able to work on-site in Webster, NY#LI-AW 1#LI-ONSITE
