Maintain the hotel in a safe, clean, organized, and guest ready condition while supporting the daily operation of the Housekeeping department. The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for providing daily direction, communication, support, and accountability to the Housekeeping team while ensuring guest rooms, public areas, and heart of house areas meet hotel cleanliness and presentation standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities. Supervise housekeeping staff by providing direction, coaching, communication, training, and daily operational support to ensure departmental standards and productivity expectations are achieved. Conduct guest room, public area, and housekeeping inspections to ensure cleanliness, presentation, safety, and brand standards are consistently maintained. Provide timely coaching and performance feedback to associates regarding cleanliness standards, productivity, service expectations, and operational procedures. Reinforce departmental expectations and follow up on deficiencies to support accountability and operational consistency. Issue daily assignments while reviewing special requests, VIP arrivals, rush rooms, out of order rooms, and operational priorities to ensure efficient workflow throughout the shift. Monitor room status updates and communicate operational concerns, delays, maintenance issues, and guest requests promptly and professionally. Support room readiness and operational flow during high occupancy and peak business periods. Respond to guest concerns, requests, and service recovery situations professionally and with urgency to support guest satisfaction. Support inventory and supply controls by monitoring linen, amenities, and housekeeping supplies throughout the shift. Maintain organization and cleanliness of housekeeping offices, storage areas, carts, and operational spaces. Support onboarding and training efforts for new associates while reinforcing established housekeeping procedures and standards. Communicate professionally and effectively with Housekeeping leaders, Front Office, Engineering, and other operational departments. Support accident prevention, safety practices, sanitation standards, and emergency procedures. Maintain professionalism and composure while balancing multiple operational priorities. Comply with attendance expectations and maintain schedule flexibility based on operational needs, including weekends, holidays, AM shifts, PM shifts, and varied schedules as business demands require. Education and Experience. Housekeeping experience preferred. Prior hotel leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Experience in full service or high occupancy hotel operations preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. Ability to inspect guest rooms and operational areas with strong attention to detail. Ability to prioritize operational needs in a fast paced hospitality environment. Ability to communicate expectations clearly and professionally with associates and operational leaders. Ability to support coaching conversations and reinforce operational standards consistently. Ability to work independently while maintaining strong teamwork and communication across departments. Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or otherwise move materials weighing up to 100 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to move throughout the building, bend, stoop, reach, and assist associates as operational needs require with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences including associates, supervisors, guests, and operational leaders. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Basic operational computer knowledge preferred, including room status systems, Hot. SOS/ GXP, or similar hotel operational platforms. Operational Expectations. Maintain housekeeping quality and cleanliness standards consistently throughout the shift. Ensure inspections, coaching, and follow up are completed consistently and professionally. Support departmental initiatives focused on guest satisfaction, cleanliness, accountability, and operational consistency. Reinforce teamwork, professionalism, and respectful workplace expectations.
