Visiting Assistant Professor of Accounting

The School of Business invites applications for a visiting assistant professor position in accounting to start August 2026. The ability to teach intermediate financial accounting is required. The ability to teach 300- and 400-level accounting classes is required. The ability to teach 500-level accounting courses is preferred. This is a one-year non-tenure track position. There is potential for a future tenure track position, and the Visiting Assistant Professor would be eligible to apply. Master’s degree in a relevant field is required. CPA is preferred. DBA or PhD is preferred. Candidates can be currently enrolled in a doctoral program. Prior teaching experience and relevant work experience are also highly preferred. The successful applicant must have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and to providing service to the School, University and/or Profession. The teaching load is four classes (12 credit hours) per semester. Indiana University Southeast is accredited by AACSB and is one of eight campuses of Indiana University. It is a residential campus of about 4,000 students located in New Albany, Indiana, which is within the Louisville, Kentucky greater metropolitan area. The metro area of about one million people has thriving arts, music, and dining scenes as well as excellent nearby recreation areas. The area is known for cultural, sports and recreational activities and has a low cost-of-living index. Basic Qualifications A Master’s in a relevant field required, CPA preferred, DBA or PhD. preferred. The candidate can currently be enrolled in a DBA or PhD program. Prior teaching experience and relevant work experience is also highly desirable.
