We are looking for a highly motivated, business-driven, detailed-oriented, and innovative Procurement and Market Engagement Consultant to provide transversal technical support to the BID for the Americas’ team. BID for the Americas is an IDB program, launched in September 2023, that aims to foster business opportunities and stronger economic ties between Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and companies and partners from the IDB’s non-borrowing member countries. The program focuses on three pillars to achieve this—trade and investment, public procurement, and co-financing— leveraging innovative technologies and financial tools to connect non-borrowing member countries with the vast potential of the region. You will work in The Productivity, Trade and Innovation Sector (PTI) of the Vice-Presidency for Sectors and Knowledge (VPS) supports LAC integration into the global economy and regional integration and cooperation through lending operations, technical assistance and applied economic and sector work. Aligned to these efforts, through its Private Sector, Synergies, and Trade Unit (PST), PTI also fosters international trade and investment through a series of conferences and events with relevant clients and partners from the public and private sectors of LAC; as well as through key initiatives and programs such as: (i) Connect. Americas (CA): (ii) the Americas Business Dialogue (ABD), and the BID for the Americas program, which PTI is coordinating at the Bank. What you’ll do Gather project information and define tender criteria. Build bidder databases and refine outreach strategies. Identify firms with potential to participate in bidding processes. Organize outreach events and support matchmaking activities. Engage stakeholders and support internal coordination efforts. Track KPIs and analyze bidder participation trends. Strengthen digital tools, including the BIDFA App, and develop knowledge products. Manage events, follow up on activities, and prepare supporting materials. Support research activities and the implementation of the BIDFA Program. What you'll need Education: Master’s degree in public policy, economics, finance, business administration, law, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in international development, with a focus on project coordination, market/bidder engagement, outreach strategies, and data analysis. Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Requirements Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
