The Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated General/ Cardiac Academic Anesthesiologist. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide a wide variety of anesthesia care while contributing to the departments academic, research, and teaching missions Position Highlights Provide anesthesia care for a wide range of adult cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic surgery, VA - Ds, and heart and lung transplantation. Deliver perioperative anesthesia services for the increasing number of adults with congenital heart defects. Perform and interpret perioperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). Participate in the care of patients requiring advanced cardiothoracic and vascular anesthesia. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care. Provide anesthesia services for a broad range of surgical procedures across multiple specialties. Actively engage in teaching activities for residents, fellows, and medical students. Contribute to departmental quality improvement, research, and scholarly activity within the division and department. Provide anesthesia care for a broad range of surgical procedures across multiple specialties and obstetric care, including labor analgesia and cesarean delivery. Qualification MD, DO, or equivalent degree. Board certification or board eligibility in Anesthesiology (ABA or equivalent). Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Texas. Demonstrated interest in education, scholarship, and academic contributions. Commitment to excellence in patient care, teamwork, and professional development. Candidates with subspecialty training in cardiothoracic, obstetric, pediatric, regional, neurosurgical, or transplant anesthesia, as well as critical care, pain management, hyperbaric medicine, and perioperative medicine are welcome to apply.
