Coordinates the day-to-day operations and activities associated with the Disability Resource Center (DRC) as it pertains to student enrollment and affiliation, test taking accommodations, ADA accommodations implementation, and program projects and services. Works with FIU students, faculty, and staff to resolve a wide variety of situations and conflicts regarding student accommodations. Independently plans, organizes, and schedules work with minimal supervision. Supervises and evaluates the work of others, including practicum students and student employees. Coordinates the operations of the Disability Resource Center, monitors workflow, and makes appropriate suggestions for improving processes and procedures. Assists with resolving a wide variety of complex situations and conflicts involving the functions and operations of the office. Oversees and maintains specific tasks and assignments for the DRC such as ensuring the confidential student databases and department's filing systems remain accurate and efficient for data purposes. Addresses any potential areas of improvement. Coordinates logistical matters related to the program including coordinating student-related requests and inquiries such as Notification of Academic Adjustments and Exam Proctor Forms. Additionally, oversees other DRC program processes, data input, and faculty and staff support regarding test-taking accommodations. Handles all internal and external inquiries and correspondence for the department such as: phone calls, inter-office mail, e-mail, and faxes. Oversees the receipt and return of quizzes and exams provided to the DRC for proctoring and ensures the security of these documents. Performs administrative duties supporting training of staff including matters such as assisting with hiring, training, and supervising other DRC student-facing positions, temporary positions, and student assistant/volunteer positions. Supports the work of others and is highly accountable to the work of the program. Assists with student accommodation meetings and accommodation implementation processes. Oversees all DRC staff calendars and coordinates with DRC team if there are any project-oriented activities that need to be prioritized. Interprets, monitors, and analyzes information regarding departmental policies and procedures. Maintains knowledge on other student support services and departments at FIU to ensure awareness for DRC students is being maintained and to search for opportunities for collaboration. Develops relationships with FIU faculty and administrators to obtain required information and testing instructions throughout the semester. Ensures the utmost customer services is always provided to constituents. Assists with the review of accessibility-related cases received by the DRC from FIU faculty, staff, and students through tools including but not limited Adaptive Technology accommodations, Glean, Grammarly, Blackboard Ally and Access Alert. Minimum Qualifications. Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of office or related experience. Desired Qualifications. Experience working with persons with disabilities.
