Your opportunity Conduct research independently to formulate investment recommendations on individual securities within the technology sector, giving careful consideration to forecasted growth, competitive positioning, quality of financial reporting and management Construct models to identify the key questions that need to be answered in the research process, determine critical drivers and forecast future revenue, earnings and cash flows Undertake research visits and meetings to develop and deepen industry expertise, including engagement with competitors, customers, suppliers and other relevant constituents Compile and communicate research findings with Portfolio Managers through written notes, reports, and presentations Contribute to broader team priorities and other responsibilities as needed What to expect when you join our firm Hybrid working and reasonable accommodations Generous Holiday policies Paid volunteer time to step away from your desk and into the community Support to grow through professional development courses, tuition/qualification reimbursement and more Maternal/paternal leave benefits and family services Complimentary subscription to Headspace – the mindfulness app Corporate membership to Class. Pass and other health and well-being benefits Unique employee events and programs including a 14 er challenge Complimentary beverages, snacks and all employee Happy Hours Must have skills Four-year degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related field 3-5 years of equity investment analyst experience required, preferably on the buy side; or an MBA degree with 2 years post-MBA experience Strong stock picking skills, with a proven track record of adding value Strong financial modeling skills, including proficiency in building and maintaining financial models to forecast future revenue, earnings, and cash flows Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Curiosity, initiative and drive Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate articulately, concisely and persuasively Ability to work and make decisions independently, as well as function effectively within a team Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships internally and externally Commitment to doing whatever it takes to grow the business Nice to have skills Post-graduate degree such as MBA, and CFA and/or CPA Experience covering the technology sector within an equity research or investment role Investment areas Has responsibility for supporting portfolios covered by the centralized US equity research team Supervisory responsibilities No Potential for growth Mentoring Leadership development programs Regular training Career development services Continuing education courses
