Please note that we are not currently hiring fully remote positions. All candidates must have the ability to work in one of our tech offices from time to time. Our tech office for this role is in Lansing, Michigan only. Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our IT Division as an IT Monitoring Analyst. This entry-level role is ideal for someone eager to learn monitoring across multiple tools and technologies. Responsibilities include assisting with the administration of enterprise monitoring platforms such as Splunk and App. Dynamics, and supporting the wide range of application, infrastructure, and support teams who depend on these platforms for monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting. The position involves:Learning and assisting with Splunk administration, including managing alerts, dashboards, data sources, and user access for multiple teams across the organization. Supporting the administration of App. Dynamics and other monitoring platforms, ensuring effective use by diverse technical and business teams. Participating in monitoring system design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and optimization discussions. Helping onboard new monitoring requests and use cases into Splunk, App. Dynamics, and other tools. Troubleshooting and assisting in the resolution of monitoring-related issues reported by teams across the enterprise. Maintaining documentation for monitoring processes, alerts, dashboards, and configurations. Collaborating with application teams, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders to understand monitoring needs, ensure effective coverage, and contribute to efforts that share best practices and promote alignment across teams. Building a foundational understanding of monitoring approaches and practices that apply across different tools and technologies. Desired Skills and Experience. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Information Systems, or Management Information Systems or a similar major is preferred. Candidates without a four-year degree, but with several years of relevant experience, may also be considered. Interest in IT monitoring, platform administration, and data analysis. Familiarity with Splunk, App. Dynamics, or other monitoring tools is a plus, but not required. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams. Willingness to learn and grow into more advanced monitoring and administration responsibilities. A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills for engaging both in-person and virtual teams. Benefits.
