Required. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate. Four (4) years of experience in a security-related field working with trunked, conventional digital, and analog two-way radio systems, one (1) year of which shall have been in an oversight or supervisory role. Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience. Possession of an appropriate, valid motor vehicle operator's license with a good driving record. Must successfully complete specialized training within one year on FCC regulatory practice, FEMA incident command systems, radio template, and code plug design. Knowledge of principles, concepts, and methods of applicable communications technology. Knowledge of FCC rules and regulations and interoperability agreements with trunked system owners. Capable of developing and delivering security and emergency communications training. Ability to plan, oversee installation, and maintenance of large-scale public safety and service radio systems. Ability to read, interpret, and explain instructions, diagrams, and manufacturer's manuals. Ability to act as liaison with FCPS, county, state, and federal organizations. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships throughout the school division and with the public. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
