FPM Remediations, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Scientist/ Geologist for a junior-level full-time position in its Chandler, Arizona office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join a team of dedicated, knowledgeable, and experienced environmental professionals. The selected candidate will support a variety of environmental investigation and remediation projects for federal and commercial clients across the United States. This position provides the opportunity to develop technical and field skills while working with advanced investigation technologies and remediation approaches on complex contaminated site projects. Primary Responsibilities:The position will support field investigations and environmental remediation projects at locations throughout the United States, with work focused primarily in Arizona and California. Responsibilities may include:Collecting soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil vapor, and air samples. Supporting groundwater monitoring well installation, well development, redevelopment, and groundwater elevation gauging activities. Primarily performing lithologic logging during groundwater monitoring well installation and soil boring activities. Overseeing and monitoring subcontractor activities, including drill rig crews, surveyors, construction crews, and remediation contractors. Completing daily field reports and maintaining accurate field documentation. Packaging and shipping environmental samples to laboratories for analysis. Operating, maintaining, and calibrating field instruments and monitoring equipment. Conducting health and safety monitoring during field activities. Observing, evaluating, and documenting field conditions and communicating changes or concerns to senior staff. Supporting preparation of technical reports and deliverables. Importing and managing electronic laboratory data into FPM and client data management systems. Evaluating environmental data quality, completeness, and usability. Preparing figures, tables, maps, and summaries of investigation results. Assisting with interpretation of field and laboratory data to support project objectives. Supporting remediation system operation, inspection, and maintenance activities as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervisory responsibilities are not anticipated. Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related scientific discipline required. Coursework in geology, chemistry, physics, hydrology, and mathematics preferred 0-3 years of relevant environmental consulting, field investigation, or remediation experience preferred. Experience with environmental sampling, drilling oversight, lithologic logging, or groundwater investigations is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability and willingness to travel for field assignments throughout the United States, primarily in Arizona and California. Ability to participate in safety training programs and comply with company health and safety procedures. Strong technical writing, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality. Ability to analyze environmental and chemistry-related data. Effective verbal communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Ability to adapt to changing field conditions, schedules, and project priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with GIS software is a plus but not required. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions, including Arizona summer conditions. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required. Ability to pass background checks and obtain access to federal facilities as required. EIT/ GIT certification is a plus for candidates pursuing professional licensure. Security Clearance: Must be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered investigation.
