Organizes, curates, catalogs, and maintains the County's enterprise geospatial data holdings to ensure that spatial datasets, metadata, and related documentation are accurate, accessible, and aligned with County data governance standards. Ensures spatial datasets, metadata, documentation, and related reference materials remain accurate, current, and accessible to internal and external users. Collaborates with internal departments and external partners to promote data integrity, improve data discoverability, and support evidence-based decision-making through reliable geospatial information. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Knowledge of software licensing, usage, and compliance requirements applicable to GIS and data management systems. - Ability to manage GIS data within at least one relational database environment, such as: Oracle, SQL Server, or Postgre. SQL. - Knowledge of procedural analytical practices to perform moderate studies and continually adapt new methods. - Ability to analyze data management needs and support evidence-based decision-making through reliable geospatial information. - Ability to provide working technical knowledge to solve problems, conduct tests, and assess data. - Skill in scripting and automation tools, such as Python, SQL, or similar technologies. - Ability to work within cloud-based data environments. - Knowledge of geospatial data governance and catalog management, open data portals, or enterprise data management systems. This position is Actively Recruited and At Will. Minimum Qualifications - Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Geography, Geographic Information System (GIS), Information Science, Data Management, Library Science or related fields and - Four (4) years of managing spatial data, data management, digital archives, Geographic Information System (GIS) software or directly related experience. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Physical Requirements:Sedentary Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
