The HR Specialist plays an essential role in facilitating and optimizing daily HR workflows across our organization. This position demands the highest standards, absolute confidentiality, professionalism, and operational excellence. You will be responsible for key human resources functions including talent acquisition, onboarding, maintenance of employee records, benefits administration, compliance with labor laws and HR operations. This is a full-time, exempt position located at our corporate office in Virginia Beach. The position is fully on-site and does not offer remote or hybrid work options. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship, as we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role. Responsibilities Supports recruitment and onboarding throughout the full hiring lifecycle. Maintains employee records and personnel files in compliance with applicable agency requirements and recordkeeping standards. Responds promptly and professionally to employee and applicant inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and services. Provides administrative support to the Human Resources office, including policy administration, document preparation, and general clerical support. Conducts quality assurance reviews of HRIS data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and data integrity. Reviews and updates standard operating procedures to support effective HR operations and management practices. Supports compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and organizational policies. Researches and remains current on emerging HR trends, best practices, and changes in employment regulations. Builds effective working relationships with employees at all levels and provides guidance on routine HR matters. Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive employee information with discretion and professionalism. Provides administrative support to HR leadership in support of daily department operations. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Minimum two years of experience in a comparable HR role. Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent organizational capabilities. High attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving abilities. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion Physical Requirements Sedentary work -Occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects.
