The Senior Maintenance Mechanic works to maintain the facility and equipment at Douglas Machine, Inc. Building and equipment maintenance comprises all preventative, remedial and upgraded work for the upkeep and improvement of buildings and their components. Regular testing and inspections are done to ensure that the facility is operating safely and efficiently, to maximize the life of equipment and reduce the risk of failure and our Senior Maintenance Mechanic ensures these take place. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Responsible for installation, repair, maintenance, and relocation of mechanical systems and equipment within all Douglas Machine facilities. Systems and equipment includes but is not limited to: HVAC systems. Compressed air systems. Machine tools. Plumbing. Boiler systems. Electrical. Gas. Building automation systems Material handling equipment (hoists, cranes, lift trucks, maintenance lifts, etc.)Responsible for replenishment and control of plant and equipment maintenance supplies and replacement parts inventory. Responsible for development and execution of preventative maintenance schedules for mechanical systems and equipment. Handle plant emergency situations, including having an intimate knowledge of locations for gas shutoff valves, electrical power switches, city domestic water valves, and plant fire sprinkler systems. Will assist in establishing priorities and providing work direction and training to other maintenance mechanic(s). Will assist in a broad range of renovation, expansion, and/or housekeeping activities as assigned. Responsible for complying with all safety policies and procedures. Ability to manage larger projects with limited supervision. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have training and/or extensive experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and equipment. A maintenance background with both mechanical and electrical responsibilities is necessary. Five years of relevant maintenance work experience required. The ability to work independently, to prioritize and change work focus, and to identify and propose solutions and improvements is essential. The availability to work a flexible work schedule as required is necessary.
